Prep and Drape of Patient

He remained hypertensive (180/100) despite maximal medical therapy. It was felt that bilateral renal revascularization was indicated for persistent renovascular hypertension and to preserve renal function. After confirmation of preserved bilateral renal parenchymal function (right and left kidneys contributing 80% and 20% of renal function, respectively), he was taken to the operating room for repair.

The patient is prepared for a full midline exposure. Bilateral groin fields are also available if saphenous vein has to be harvested. This particular patient did not have adequate saphenous vein for the planned procedure.
